Setup
Logo and document design
Set the logo, brand colour, header and footer, PDF layout and text templates for your documents.
Where to set the design
Open Settings › Document design. There you find, one below the other, “Brand & document template” for the logo, brand colour, header and footer, the invoice number, the text templates and the professional PDF templates. Each part has its own button to save it.
Upload your logo
- Under “Company logo”, click “Choose logo” or drag the file into the field.
- Use a PNG, JPEG or WebP file of up to 128 KB. A wide wordmark (around 3:1) with a transparent background works best; the aspect ratio is always kept.
- Choose the alignment in the PDF (left, centred or right) and the display size (Small, Standard or Large).
- Click “Save”. Use “Replace logo” or “Remove logo” to change it later.
Brand colour, header and footer
- The brand colour is used for headings and accents in the PDF.
- The header is optional and sits at the top of the document, for example a short motto of your business.
- The footer is optional and suits your website or email address.
- You do not need to type your company name, address, UID or bank details into the footer: they come from Settings › Company, Settings › Taxes and Settings › Bank & payments.
Choose a PDF template
Under “Professional PDF templates”, choose a layout for each document type: Classic, Modern, Compact or Letterhead. First pick the “Document type for preview”, then the layout, and check the real PDF preview; “Open large” shows it at full size. The preview uses your company details and sample data, never customer data. Then click “Save PDF defaults”.
Text templates
Under “Text templates”, set the default subject for new invoices, reminders (Mahnungen) and letters, each in German, English and Turkish. The customer’s language decides which version is used. Each field takes up to 200 characters.
Important
Expected result
After saving, the preview in the settings shows your logo, your brand colour and the chosen layout. A new draft shows the same design in the editor’s PDF preview.
Common problems
- The logo is refused: the file is not a PNG, JPEG or WebP, or it is larger than 128 KB. Make the image smaller and choose it again.
- The logo looks small or faint: use a wide wordmark with a transparent background and choose the size “Large”.
- An old invoice still shows the old logo: that is correct, issued documents stay unchanged.
Continue safely
Change the design calmly and check it in the preview before you issue your next document. If you are unsure, keep the “Classic” layout and only add your logo.
